What is the difference between gold plated and gold filled?

When comparing gold filled with
gold plated, the two results are fairly similar. They
both result in sunny hues over a base metal that isn't sterling
silver. However, the technique to apply the gold to this other
metal is where the two types differ. The main differences are:

Application technique - The way to apply the
top metal to gold filled ​​jewelry is using a mechanical process
involving heat. Whereas gold plated accessories are covered with a
thin layer of gold through a chemical process.

Tarnish resistance - Where gold filled has a
thick layer of gold on the outside, gold plated have a much thinner
layer. This means, with gold plated, the gold is more easily
tarnished and the base metal is more easily exposed with wear. This
means you may have to adorn your gold plated jewelry less often
than gold filled, to help increase its longevity.

Base metal - Both gold filled and gold plated
jewelry uses a base metal that is not sterling silver. This is
usually a cheaper metal such as copper, brass, or similar. This can
help to create more widely affordable pieces, because the materials
are of less value.

Thickness of gold - In gold filled, the amount
of gold around the base metal usually makes up around 5% of its
weight. The gold in gold plated can account for as little as 0.05%
of a jewelry item.

Sizing and Fit

Can you make the bracelets larger or smaller?

Yes! All of our bracelets are made in our NJ studio so we have the ability to make them larger or smaller as per your needs.

How should the bracelet fit?

There’s no right or wrong! It all depends on what feels comfortable for you. However, you don’t want them too tight so they don’t move because they will leave marks on your skin . You also don’t want them too tight where they go flying off your wrist! One thing to keep in mind is... that as you stack 3,4 or more, our arm gets wider and therefore the bracelets will fit tighter. As a rule of thumb, Oriana’s wrist measures 6” in diameter and she wears our standard size 7.5” bracelets.

I need the bracelet smaller/larger, what do I do?

Very simple! You can just drop us a message in the “note” section at checkout and we will make them according to your request. If you’re not sure what size you need, you can refer to our sizing guide or send us an email to info@orianalamarca.com.

Shipping

Where do you ship from?

We ship from our NJ studio with USPS first class mail. Once your order has shipped you will receive an email with tracking info. Expedited shipping services are available at checkout.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Our usual ship time is 2-4 business days to make sure we have time to make your pieces if they're not already in stock. Once your order is in the mail it should take about 2-4 days within the US and 10-17 days for other countries. If you need something sooner, expedited shipping services are avialable at checkout.

Can I pick up my order?

Unfortunately we do not have a location for customer pick up and drop off at this time.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes! We offer priority express which is usually 1-2 day delivery.

Do you ship outside of the US?

Yes! Shipping will be calculated at checkout. OLDesigns is not responsible for any brokerage fees, customs duties and all other charges that may be imposed.

Returns/exchanges

Can I drop off my repair/return? 

Unfortunately we do not have a location for customer pick up and drop off at this time.

What is your return policy? 

We want you to love your new arm candy!

If you are not satisfied with your item, you may send it back to us within 5 days of receipt for a refund or exchange after obtaining a return authorization number by emailing returns@orianalamarca.com. 

No returns or exchanges will be accepted after the 5 day period. 

To receive a refund, your item must still be unworn and in its original packaging.  All shipping charges will be the responsibility of the customer should you decide to return or exchange an item. - Please note original shipping charges are NOT refundable.

Special order items and sale items are not returnable.

Ship your package using a reachable, insured shipping method as we cannot accept responsibility for packages we do not ship. Please keep tracking details for your records.

Once we receive customer returned merchandise, we will process your returns/exchanges. Please allow 7-10 business day for processing. If at any time you are having trouble with your return, please an email to returns@orianalamarca.com

repairs/warranty

My bracelet is damaged, what should I do?

In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged item, please inspect immediately after receipt. If damage has been found, email info@orianalamarca.com  and let us know what went wrong. You must contact us within 24 hours of receipt to report damage. Damages must be repacked in the original packaging it came in.

My bracelet broke, can it be fixed?

Oh SNAP! Things happen! Each piece of jewelery is a work of art and quality and craftsmanship is our utmost concern. However, jewelry by its very nature is delicate.If you should experience the need for repair on any Oriana Lamarca jewelry item, please email info@orianalamarca.com. Please reference your Name, Address, Order Number and Repair Issue. You will be provided a Repair Authorization Number which must be clearly labeled on the package.

Oriana Lamarca Designs will repair any breakage caused by manufacturer defect within 120 days of receipt of purchase (with proof of purchase) at no charge. Repairs needed after 120 days or deemed to be caused by misuse will incur a repair charge at the customer’s expense. A restringing fee of $10.00 will be charged assuming all necessary beads/charms are present. Repairs needing replacement pieces as well as repairs of all other items will be assessed on an individual basis. Oriana Lamarca does not accept returns on any merchandise that has been worn.

A self addressed envelope with prepaid  postage must be shipped through a traceable method such as UPS, Federal Express or Insured Parcel Post and is the responsibility of the customer.

Most repairs will be shipped out within 7-14 days.

Our Repairs Processing Center only accepts repairs for items purchased on orianalamarca.com. Repairs for items purchased at one of our Retailers must be returned through the original point of purchase and cannot be accepted through the orianalamarca.com Returns Processing Center.

How to care for your pieces

How do i care for my beaded bracelets?

Each Oriana Lamarca beaded bracelet is made from the highest quality materials. These materials are often cut from natural sources and the use of hairsprays, lotions, colognes or perfumes can alter the natural state of the materials used. For this reason our bracelets are highly sensitive to water and wearing them while sleeping, showering, exercising, or in a pool or sauna should be avoided.These elements can weaken the elastic cord that holds the bracelet together and can contribute to breakage in the future if not cared for properly.

To ensure the longevity of your Oriana Lamarca beaded bracelet, ROLL the bracelet on or off your arm, rather than pull, stretch or tug on the beads. Repetitive tugging and pulling can cause the elastic to weaken and break over time and should be avoided. To maintain the beauty of your beaded bracelets, we recommend cleaning the beads by using mineral oil that has been wiped off with a soft, white cloth.

How do I care for my gold chain?

Just like our beaded bracelets, the necklace chains should be treated with the utmost care. Do not pull or tug on them. Chains should be treated delicately in order to prevent damage.
