  • “I’m bringin the fannypack back” 🎶

When traveling I love dresses and rompers for daytime outfits because they are easy and you only have to pack one item instead of 2, which is great when you have to squeeze everything into 50 lbs. I found this cute romper last year before my trip to St Tropez as I was searching on Amazon. It was really my first time purchasing clothing on Amazon and I was skeptical but turns out it was a perfect piece to travel with! Its light, the ruffle top adds a feminine flair and easy to grab n go when plans change at the last minute an you have to be ready in under 5 minutes! Not to mention that it was about 95 degrees everyday so keeping clothing and accessories to a minimum was a must, except when it comes to my armparty obvi. Im trying to get into the whole fannypack/ belt bag look and this was the perfect time to test it out and I loved it. it held all my necessities and kept my hands free while also accented at the waist since lost the actual belt that came with the romper! • Beat the Heat in Linen 💃🏻

One of the things I love about being in Sicily is feeling the heat of the Sicilian Sun ! For some it can be overbearing but the trick to staying cool is linen! Linen is highly absorbent and a good conductor of heat. Your linen garment feels cool to the touch and linen fabric will quickly remove perspiration from the skin which is why you will see a lot of Italians wearing linen. I found this cute red linen dress at Marshall's and it was perfect for our mornings walks through town for un espresso and some shopping at my favorite store in town (Antica Sartoria) of course! • Flowing Florals 🌸🌼🌺

I love mixing colors, textures, styles and prints. I guess as part of me being a libra and my indecisiveness usually lends itself to me settling for one of each instead of just one because, well just because can a girl live! Sometimes part of me wants to be casual and part of me wants to be dressy and as a result, I get this casual yet chic look . I paired a casual t shirt with a flow maxi skirt to add that feminine polished flair and I love it! • Pretty in Polka Dots

Black and white polka dots ruled the Spring 2018 runways—from the oversized, '80s-inspired iterations at Carolina Herrera to glamorous swim looks at Jacquemus and smaller spots on romantic dresses at Jason Wu. I love the flare at the bottom and the bow tie strap add a super feminine flare which reminds me of dolce & Gabbana.  Here's a quick inexpensive way to incorporate this look into your wardrobe! • No grey areas, just black and white ⚪️⚫️

Some basic outfits don't have to be "basic", like this basic white pants and black top outfit. The key is to accessorize properly. I love a wide leg pant since I have wide hips it actually makes them appear smaller and they balance out my broad shoulders. Plus these are high waisted which I love and perfect to pair with a crop top. I don't usually like a crop top to go out because I don't like to expose too much skin but these high waisted pants came up just high enough to show a little skin but too much where Nonna would panic lol. I wore these fun white tassel earrings to brighten up around my face and of course had to stay in theme with the lemon bag and lemon armcandy! A very simple but classic "Sicilian" / Dolce Gabbana look ;) Outfit Details: Top: For L'dor Red Bank $10.99 Wide Leg Linen Pants: Zara - on sale $19.99 Heels: Chinese Laundry - Joy Ride$ 60 Citrus Armparty: orianalamarca.com$176 Bag: purchased in Sicily Tula Tassel Earrings: orianalamarca.com$45

  • Nonna's Sundried Tomatoes

If you haven't tried Nonna's sun-dried tomatoes, you're basically missing out on life! Oddly enough, I actually don't like tomatoes raw, I only eat them cooked or sun-dried. The combination of Nonna's TLC and that Sicilian sun give these tomatotes a flavor you won't find anywhere else. The process starts with Nonno's picking "only the good tomatoes" from the farm. After he brings them homes, Nonna cleans them, slices them in half, lays them out on a wooden board covered in tin foil and heavily sprinkles them with sea salt. Then every morning for about 3-4 days, Nonno will set them out on the terrace where they face the direct sunlight and he brings them in around lunch time because they're "in the way". Once the tomatoes are thoroughly dried, she stretches them out, which you can see her doing in the picture below, so that they stay nice and round and flat. But the real action takes place after they bring them back to the states where Nonna stuffs them with breadcrumbs and fries them. ahhh-mazing-ly delicious!

  • Pasta Con Tenerumi

Pasta con Tenerumi is one of the simplest, inexpensive and most delicious pasta dishes. Tenerumi are the leaves from the "cucuzza" squash. Similar to a zucchini, the cucuzza has large flat green leaves however these leaves are very "tender" and tasty. Since each region in Sicily has their own twist on how to prepare certain meals, this version my dad prepared is a "Palermitano" style Pasta con Tenerumi. We started by going to the local market and my mom hand picked the "best looking" cucuzza and tenerumi. After he cleaned the leaves, he chopped them up. Then he sautéed a few tomatoes in a lot of garlic and oil which he boil the leaves and cut up squash for about 10 minutes. Nonna was assigned "pasta prep" as she broke up regular DECecco spaghetti into short 1.5 inch pieces. The pasta in then thrown into the pot with the tenerumi and cucuzza to cook for about another 10 minutes. Once the pasta is ready, you add in the garlic, oil and tomatoes and its ready to serve!
